The hotel chain owned 37 hotels, 25 of which were located in Spain and 12 in the Caribbean and LATAM, with the latter performing well. The objective of the project, as agreed with the management, was to assist the hotel chain in improving its bookings and brand awareness, with a focus on the Spanish hotels since that was the focus.

  • Leverage best practices: I studied the operations of the non-Spanish hotels to identify best practices and successful strategies that could be replicated in the Spanish hotels. This provided valuable insights into what was working well and what could be improved.
  • Replicate successful strategies: Based on the best practices identified, I recommended replicating successful strategies in the Spanish hotels, such as marketing efforts, customer experience initiatives, and technology implementations.
  • Utilize the brand’s strengths: I also recommended leveraging the brand’s strengths, such as the reputation and customer loyalty built by the Caribbean hotels, to improve the Spanish hotels’ performance. This was achieved through cross-promotion initiatives, joint marketing campaigns, and using the non-Spanish hotels as a reference for the Spanish hotels.
  • Assessed the hotel chain: I also assessed the hotel chain’s operations, including its business processes, customer experience, and marketing efforts. This helped me to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations.
  • Developed a hospitality strategy: Based on the market analysis and assessment of the hotel chain, I developed a comprehensive hospitality strategy that included recommendations for improving business processes, enhancing the customer experience, and boosting marketing efforts.
  • Implemented new technologies: I recommended and helped the hotel chain implement new technologies, such as a property management system (PMS), a customer relationship management (CRM) system, and online booking platforms, to improve its operations and customer experience.
  • Revamped marketing efforts: I also worked with the hotel chain to revamp its marketing efforts, including its website, social media presence, and advertising campaigns. The objective was to increase brand awareness and drive bookings.
  • Trained the workforce: I provided training to the hotel chain’s workforce on how to use the new technologies and how to deliver an exceptional customer experience, ensuring a smooth transition to the new systems.

This hospitality consulting project was a success, and the hotel chain was able to improve its bookings and brand awareness. The company was able to remain competitive in the market, thanks to the implementation of new technologies, a well-trained workforce, and an effective marketing strategy aimed at the right target and using the right channels.

By incorporating the success of the non-Spanish hotels into the project, we were able to leverage its strengths and replicate successful strategies, improving the performance of the Spanish hotels and strengthening the overall brand. As part of our hospitality interim management, we were asked to stay with the company for 3 extra monts to ensure the implementation of new technologies, the updated marketing strategies and the new working procedures were properly tackled.
